Happy Me, Naturally is a retail distributor of natural hair products on the island of Grenada.
The business was founded and owned by Arlena E. Mark and her husband Denroy A.M Mark. Last Saturday they hosted their first independent event themed “The Mane Game.” The event took the contained empowerment sessions, teaching and demos; which featured lecturer from St. George’s University and director of Public Health Dr.Omawale Amuleru-Marshall, Entrepreneur and CEO of Carlana & Co. Carlana Charles and CEO of Virtue School of Beauty Cosmetologist Genel Forteau. Arlena also shared her heartfelt story of how her business started and her vision and guest co-host from Trinidad Tshenelle “Nelly B” Bethel brought the spice with ice breaker sessions “Spice Time.”

In Grenada, events of this kind are not held frequent but when they are they are memorable ones “The Mane Game” was no exception after this event: persons with business ideas expressed, the fear they felt towards stepping out was now eradicated and they’re ready for the next step. Attendees left also feeling confident in who they are, unashamed of their culture, background, TWA, curly, kinky or whatever “flaw” society has labeled them.
With this kind of feedback Arlena says, “Mission accomplished!” “I wanted nothing less than seeing this event produce a team of empowered women, going out to empower other women. It is an honor to be the host but it is even more honorable to be a part of this great movement.”
